Connolly Brothers, Inc., a construction management, planning, design, and development firm serving private commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, was honored with an Eagle Award by the Massachusetts chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC-MA) at its annual Excellence in Construction Awards gala on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Mass. Connolly received the Eagle, ABC-MA's highest honor, in the General Contractor/Industrial category for its work on Vicor Corporation's 95,000 square-foot manufacturing facilities expansion in Andover, MA.
“This outstanding achievement is a testament to Connolly Brothers' superior capabilities," notes ABC-MA President Greg Beeman. “Moreover, Connolly's award-winning work is also a notable achievement for the merit shop construction industry and our entire industry."
ABC-MA's Excellence in Construction Awards are determined by an independent panel of construction industry expert judges. Vicor's manufacturing expansion enabled the world's first ChiP (Converter housed in Package) fabrication facility, or “ChiP fab," which sets the standard for scalable high-volume, cost-effective, and reliable power module manufacturing in the U.S. for an array of fields, including data centers, automotive, aerospace/satellite, and robotics, among others.
“Throughout the Vicor factory expansion project, the entire Connolly Brothers team exhibited a high level of professionalism and industry expertise," says Vicor Vice President of Operations Mike McNamara. “Their clear communications and unwavering commitment to delivering a high-quality product on time and on a budget meant we were able to meet our aggressive production schedule, allowing us to fulfill our customers' expectations."

Connolly provided pre-construction and construction management services on the Vicor project. Among many more, the project team included Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects (design), Mechanical Construction Services, Inc. (HVAC/plumbing), Meridian Associates (civil engineering), and WB Engineers+Consultants (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).
